Mary Jane was the California Director for Obama for America 2012, where she developed and managed the California state strategy for building an organization to re-elect President Barack Obama by supporting key Battleground States; Under Mary Jane’s leadership, California became the highest performing “border state” in the country, exporting 90 staff, thousands of volunteers, high-level surrogates, and more than 13 million phone calls into eight Battleground States.
Mary Jane directed budgeting processes and made final resource decisions working directly with all departments at Chicago Headquarters, including political, analytics, digital, messaging, press, and senior national campaign leadership.
In 2008, Mary Jane was the California Field Director for the Obama campaign, where she oversaw a giant field program that recruited, trained, and managed a staff and volunteers in making more than 10 million voter contact calls to 10 Battleground States.
Under Jacobs’ leadership, the Courage Campaign has grown to more than 750,000 members and is now a progressive powerhouse in California and across the nation.
In 2012, Courage Campaign became the online backbone of the Reclaim California’s Future coalition, an unprecedented statewide grassroots/labor campaign to educate and turnout infrequent, young, minority and disenfranchised progressive voters, who helped put Prop 30 on the ballot and pass it.
